In this A&T Talks episode, New York-based New York-based artists Tattfoo Tan and Kariny Padilla join us to discuss the purpose, process and impact of artistic mentorship. Tattfoo, a seasoned artist and graphic designer, shares on his role and responsibilities as a mentor, while Kariny, a recent FIT graduate, offers an insight into the many ways mentorship can be transformative.
Tattfoo Tan is an artist who collaborates with the public on issues relating to ecology, sustainability and healthy living. His work is project-based, ephemeral and educational in nature. He has exhibited at venues including the Queens Museum of Art, Eugene Lang College at the New School for Liberal Arts, Parsons the New School for Design, the Fashion Institute of Technology, among others.
Kariny Padilla is a painter and a recent graduate from the Fashion Institute of Technology with a Fine Arts Degree. Her paintings are a figurative documentation of her personal life and experiences.
