Synopsis: Stephen Fox is a photorealistic painter whose work renders nighttime scenes with a quality of mystery and fantastical nature. His work typically involves explorations of recurring elements and scenes such as glowing phone booths, illuminated billboards, interstate highways, and after-hours parks and playgrounds. He is a three-time recipient of the Virginia Museum Professional Artist's Fellowship among other awards, and his work has been exhibited at various galleries across the world including Posco Gallery in Seoul, South Korea, and the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts in Richmond Virginia.
Fox is currently a professor at the School of Visual Arts where he teaches freshmen students on the "Principles of Visual Language". He currently works and resides in Brooklyn, New York City.
