Susannah Ray is a New York based photographer and professor. Her work focuses on the intersection of city and water and how New Yorkers' lives are shaped by the waters around the city. She has taught photography for 15 years and is currently an adjunct associate professor at Hofstra University. In this conversation, we talk about the four key steps of analyzing and decoding photographs as inspired by American critic, historian, and educator A.D. Coleman.
